BYT — First Look: Franklin Hall

Franklin Hall is big. It can hold a lot of people. It can host your birthday party. Or your work party. Or your after work happy hour. Or your fantasy football/baseball/Drag Race league. It’s big.

Franklin Hall is big in a good space in a good time. Above them is the co-working space We Work. Next door is the coffee shop that people use as a co-working space La Colombe. The next restaurant from Rose Previte of Compass Rose will be opening in the same building. A gym is coming. All of these places are equipped for large groups. The people opening businesses in the Manhattan Laundry Building don’t want you to leave the block.

We took a peek inside Franklin Hall before their opening night. In addition to large tables for large groups, the space has some nooks for smaller groups. The front area features large leather chairs. The back area will be well suited for private parties.

Franklin Hall is first and foremost a beer bar. They have a long bar and an extensive tap list. They’re currently offering 20 draft beers, 3 wines (rosé, white, Prosecco) and a draft cocktail (Hemingway Daiquiri). Happy hour takes $2 off drafts and rail cocktails and runs 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The food menu is limited bar food. Chicken wings, chicken tenders, burgers, sausages and more. Brunch options are coming soon.

You’ll most likely visit Franklin Hall for a birthday party. Or work party. Or after work happy hour. It’s a good option that benefits from its proximity to 14th and U without being stuck on 14th and U.
